Since arriving in the US, his articles have appeared in regional magazines and newspapers, including Apprise Magazine, Harrisburg Magazine, Pittsburgh Magazine, Pennsylvania Magazine, Prime Times, Old Time Herald and the Harrisburg Patriot News among others. He has covered such diverse subjects as ethnic affairs, foreign language publications, food, radio and travel as well as music and soccer.
He has been on staff at Irish Edition (Philadelphia) since the early 1990s with his regular music column.
Jamie has also written for a number of online magazines including FAME (acousticmusic.com), PopMatters, Rambles and RootsWorld where he has written about Irish, celtic, Hawaiian and new country music.
Jamie has been writing professionally since the 1980s, though his first published pieces appeared a decade earlier.
